About Our standards
About
Our standards
Partners trust us with their programs, their funds and their data. These commitments apply to every GISD assignment.
In all our work
Integrity
Team members declare any conflict of interest before an assignment starts. We do not offer or accept gifts or payments that could influence a decision.
Accountability for resources
Every dollar we manage is budgeted, documented and traceable to the work it paid for.
Do no harm and safeguarding
We plan activities around the safety and dignity of participants, communities and staff. Any concern about abuse or exploitation is reported and acted on.
Confidentiality and data protection
We collect only the data the work needs, store it securely and never share information that could identify a participant.
Inclusion
We plan activities so that women, young people, people with disabilities and rural communities can take part and benefit.
Local ownership
We work in Haitian Creole, French or English, build on partners’ own systems and leave skills and tools behind.
By service line
Program management
- We apply the donor’s rules on eligibility, procurement, reporting and visibility from day one, and keep the records an audit requires.
- Purchases follow competitive, documented procedures with separation of duties.
- Each program has a risk register, reviewed regularly, covering delivery, financial, security, safeguarding and environmental risks.
- We report results as measured, including delays and shortfalls, together with the corrective action taken.
Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning (MEAL)
- We design and judge evaluations against the OECD DAC criteria and the UNEG Norms and Standards, and follow the commissioner’s evaluation policy where one applies.
- No one evaluates a program they designed, managed or were paid to implement.
- Participants give informed consent in the language they choose and may stop at any time.
- Reports state the methods used, their limits and how each finding was reached.
Knowledge management
- We credit sources and share stories, photos or quotes only with the permission of the people concerned.
- Knowledge products are written in plain language and, where needed, in Haitian Creole as well as French or English.
Institutional strengthening
- We start from an assessment agreed with the partner and build on its existing systems.
- Training and coaching aim to transfer skills, so the partner can run its systems without us. We measure the change in capacity, not only attendance.
Report a concern
To report a concern about the conduct of GISD staff, associates or partners, including fraud, abuse or exploitation, write to contact@gisdfordev.com with “Confidential” in the subject line. Reports are handled confidentially, and no one who reports in good faith will face retaliation.
Our code of conduct and ethics and our integrity, conflict of interest and whistleblowing policies are available to partners on request.
